My moov 310

I got myself a Mio Moov 310 gps. At first I didn’t like it . The new mapping Navman software sucks. After some searching around I found out that I can use Miopocket to unlock it and use the new Igo 8 . Now it rocks. Its the best gps software I ever used.

Quicksilver OP Version

This is my version of the Quicksilver car locator 1.47 by Ameridan Listed below are some changes I made so.

Fav Button

I like to use this button to find the closes truck stop quickly while I’m driving. As of this version it only works with the My POI’s categories. The button is hidden from the stock POI’s. This is how it works.

Navigate to MY POI’s and select a category. Clicking on the FAV button will set that category as your favorite.

Now when at the cockpit screen clicking on the FAV button will bring you straight to that category. Distances are updated. Make sure you set your Poi reference to around GPS location .

Info toggle for browser

One of my pet peeves has always been the popup menu. Driving a big rig I have to plan out my route carefully. Sometime using many via’s and pins. But every time you click on the map the popup menu would popup. Very annoying. So I set it not to popup and added a quick toggle button for the map info.

 

Quick pins

Add and remove pins without the popup menu.

 

 

Quick day/night toggle

I like to toggle the day to night myself this button lets me do it quickly and keep my eyes on the road.

Settings.

Large font size on next turn

If you notice when you get close to your next turn the font of the next turn gets bigger. So you can clearly see the name of the street or exit number. I like this, but on a highway it really doesn’t do it soon enough for me. And my eyes are not what they used to be. So I added a toggle for it. Click once for the big font. Click again for the default. It will still work automatically when you’re close to your turn. Also says the next turn witch was original to Quicksilver.

Updated Font

I have added the digit font from the sznyt23 skin to speed and time. No reason really. I just like it.

 

As you can see the icons I added are small and you may need a stylus to use them.

You can take any part of the code I added and add it to any c230 skin you like. It is clearly marked in the .ui ‘s with “ ;added by OP”. Any questions please post on the comments of my blog.

Some Thanks

When I first got my Mio c230 it was to replace the broken GPS I had on my laptop. Searching on the net for some updates I came across a site with a group of guys unlocking, added code and software to the c230. And after a 4 gig SD card and a few months my Mio is nothing like it was out of the box. It’s something much more. Last week I watched No Country for Old Men on it. It’s hard to believe I would be doing that after standing in line at BestBuy to ask the guy in the blue shirt “witch one is the cheapest”.

Now I can’t see how I could do without.

New themes for my Mio c230

There has been some great updates to my Mio c230 lately thanks to Ameridan and the guys over at c230 webblog .

So I put together my own themes. It has all the lasted updates to revision level 3.6. I just changed some colors and added some icons.

Also I,m working on getting activesnyc to work on my c230 . Maybe installing a full version of the core . If you got any hints on this let me know.

jb Hunt Miles 2007

I have been working for JBHunt for over a year now. Average weekly miles for the year is 1700. I have talked to one dispatcher and he told me that I have to learn how to set my ETA right. But if I set my ETA for 800 am with 11 hours to run . When 800 am comes I get no load. WTF?? He did not have a answer for that.

Next week I will be looking into a DCS account . If that does not work out i’m going to have to say goodbye to JBHunt.

Mio c230

About month ago i got myself a Mio C230 gps unit .It does a great job of getting me around the US . One day while looking on the net for some  updates i found a way to unlock it so i can use it more like a PDA. Now it will play movie clips and mp3’s. .But the best part is i can now plan the routes and save them to memory.

Pa. Mine.

I had to pick up a load in a old Pennsylvania coal mine last week. Some smart person decided to turn all that space into warehouses. It was the oddest place I ever been to pickup a load.
